Racing Pumps are pumps used to deliver fuel to street driven vehicles. The components used in Racing Pumps include high speed steel, aircraft billet high quality aluminium and electrical motors. The configuration and type determines the price which can range from above $300 to around $1500.
The Racing Pumps are designed to be only fuel pumps and should not be used to pump water. They find their usage in pumping commercial gasoline used for racing, alcohol based fuels and other blends used in racing vehicles.
It is important that proper care is taken to ensure that racing pumps are in good condition to avoid accidents. These include proper flushing of the pump as the fuel used could be corrosive, avoiding running of pump when the fuel is dry to avoid damage to the element, proper filtering of the fuel before it goes inside the pump and proper placement of inlet/outlet to avoid over strain on the pump.
